I have read your book on advice to a beginning Orchid hobbyist and find it filled with information for those who are just starting.
Perhaps I should add that it can be of added value to those who need to be reminded. It is refreshing to read of someone's personal experiences and advice as opposed to too many coffee table picture books and high tech orchid books. They too are of value, however, we must keep one thing in mind: the orchid world is changing, millions now buy an "orchid" at the super-market. Their first question is, "What do I do now?"

"I was delighted to find your very thorough book, "Caring for Your First Orchid & More". I have several pots of Phalaenopsis which are in various states of disrepair. At the book's suggestion I examined the roots and saw many were brown and dried up. After I read your book I realized that I had been over-watering some of them, while under-watering others, as I have been watering all of them at the same time with the same amount of water.
